Yvonne Kilpatrick presenting on Reducing Your Mental Load
Studies continue to show that women disproportionately carry the cognitive and emotional burden of managing household and family responsibilities.
In addition to the need for societal changes, there are things we can do to better manage our mental list and the stress created by the ‘default manager’ role. This short talk will cover two, simple but effective strategies for reducing mental load and maintaining healthy boundaries around our time and energy.

Yvonne Kilpatrick –
I’m a psychologist, co-director of a private practice (Amherst Psychology), autistic, ADHDer, and am happiest somewhere under a tree or by the water with a book.
I’m also a parent and partner in a neurodiverse family and have lots of compassion and opinions about the journey of neurodivergent parents and neurodiverse partnerships – whether at home or in the workplace.
I’m proud to have helped create a trauma responsive and neurodiversity affirming practice and am delighted to be able to share some of our clinical and organisational know-how with others through our professional development services and community presentations.
